Chloe Brisson Brings Her Genre-Spanning Voice to Schenectady and Cohoes
By Orlondo Otis Hundley
Acclaimed vocalist and composer Chloe Louise Brisson will bring her soulful blend of jazz, folk, blues, and Americana to two Capital Region stages this August. She performs at The Moon and River Café in Schenectady on August 29 and at Bye I Brewing in Cohoes on August 30 for the Starlight in Cohoes event.
A New Hampshire native, Brisson was raised on classic folk and jam band sounds and began performing young under the guidance of jazz legends like Sheila Jordan and Ralph Peterson. She earned degrees from the New England Conservatory and the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, where she studied with top-tier musicians including Terri Lyne Carrington, Joe Lovano, and Danilo Pérez.

Brisson has performed at the Panama Jazz Festival, Jazz Over the Volga in Russia, and contributed vocals to Listen Up by Ralph Peterson’s GenNext Big Band, which won the Downbeat Critics Poll for Rising Star Big Band. She also completed a prestigious artist residency in the Arctic Circle, shaping a broader musical perspective rooted in storytelling and genre fluidity.
Now based in Brooklyn, Brisson performs regularly and runs a private teaching studio. Her live shows reflect deep artistry, emotional honesty, and a rare ability to connect across styles and generations.
