Jennifer “Jenny Marie” Dahnke: A Voice Lifting the Capital Region

In Schenectady, New York, Jennifer Dahnke, known by many as Jenny Marie, has become one of the Capital Region’s most uplifting creative forces. A singer, organizer, and community builder, Jenny measures success not only by her own accomplishments, but by how many artists she can help bring with her.

Her love for music began early, inspired by her father, a musician who passed away when she was only eleven years old. That loss deeply shaped her path. Jenny poured her grief into music, developing a powerful voice and a deep commitment to the craft.

Her dedication quickly led to major opportunities. She made her debut performance at B.B. King’s in Manhattan, later holding residencies at The Frederick Allen Lodge and The Adelphi in Saratoga Springs. While studying vocal performance and audio technology at Schenectady County Community College (SCCC), she made history as the first jazz student invited to perform with the school’s big jazz band.

Jenny’s journey has also been defined by resilience. She paused her studies to care for her mother during a long recovery following surgery. Later, she battled a serious illness that changed her life for nearly two years. Like many artists, she also faced the severe disruption the pandemic brought to the music and arts community.

Each challenge strengthened her resolve to build something larger than herself.

That vision became The Cool Mom Dot Com, a platform and event series Jenny created to connect musicians, independent artists, and local businesses. What started as a simple idea has grown into a regional movement. Her showcases have welcomed performers from around the world and provided countless artists with their first experience performing on a stage.

Jenny’s work extends beyond events. She mentors young singers, curates playlists for independent artists, and travels with emerging performers to help expand their opportunities.

Her talent has also gained global recognition. Jenny won a competition hosted by legendary producer Timbaland, rising above more than 20,000 artists to earn a place on one of his upcoming projects. She also works as an on-air host for the New York State Lottery, further expanding her presence across the region.

Yet for many in Schenectady and the wider Capital Region, Jenny Marie’s greatest impact is her generosity of spirit. She continues to build platforms where artists feel seen, heard, and supported.

In a music industry often defined by competition, Jennifer “Jenny Marie” Dahnke stands out as a creator who believes success grows stronger when it is shared.
